Today we honor Stephen Murphy with the Philadelphia Fire Department whose LODD was 2/3/1998.
Stephen E. Murphy‚ 47‚ a career firefighter with the Philadelphia Fire Department‚ died on February 3‚ 1998 after suffering a heart attack while fighting a row house fire in Philadelphia on January 27‚ 1998. A 23-year fire service veteran‚ he had received the department’s Heroism Award for rescuing three children after a residential gas explosion.
