Paul Frederick
Today we Honor Paul Frederick of the Elwood City Volunteer Fire Department. Whose LODD was 12/4/1989.
Written by his daughter
My father joined the fire department in 1973. He belonged to the scuba rescue and recovery team. Paul served as Lieutenant in 1978 and Captain from 1979 to 1987.
He was in the Army with the First Calvary from 1971-1973 during the Vietman War.
Paul was a sixth grade elementary teacher for the Ellwood City Area School District for 20 years. He was also head teacher at that facility.
In November 1978 he received a hero’s citation given by the Ellwood City Council for pushing several children out of the way of a speeding motorcycle as its rider crossed school grounds while being pursued by police.
Paul also belonged to the Saxon’s and Ellwood City Jaycee’s organization.
Paul is survived by his two daughters Ivy Frederick and Shannon Frederick-Myers of Ellwood City‚ his parents Ralph and Mary Frederick and a sister Carol Frederick-Hink.
Paul was very well known and liked in the community.
We do not have a photo of Paul, if you do please contact this page or the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
