Today we honor Eric Mangieri with the New Kensington Fire Department Company #4 whose LODD was 8/7/1995. Eric Lee Mangieri was a volunteer firefighter with New Kensington Fire Department Company 4. On August 7, 1995, he responded to a house fire on Freeport Road. During the incident, a flashover occurred, and Mangieri became trapped while attempting to escape, ultimately succumbing to smoke inhalation and the fire itself . He had been with the department for two years and was actively searching for potential victims inside the burning home when the tragedy occurred
